About Us

Green Gain was established in 2011 by Ashley Robb and Steve Ogden. Together they have over 30 years of experience in the wastes and resources management sector, with past roles at CO2Sense, Resource Futures and SLR Consulting.

 

In the first two years of operation, Green Gain has established a reputation for delivering high-quality research, project delivery and direct business support for the private sector as well as public sector clients such as Defra, WRAP, and CO2Sense. Green Gain work has ranged from delivery of resource efficiency support programmes to research and practical trials on closed loop recycling and reuse and repair services.

 

Green Gain and its professional network of Associates has quickly garnered a reputation for providing high-quality research, consultancy and business support. We have successfully secured places on a number of consultancy frameworks for WRAP, Resource Efficient Scotland (RES), the Welsh Government, Barnsley Development Agency and the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Low Carbon Consultancy framework - helping make the transition from a linear to circular economy. Over the past two years, we have helped businesses improve their environmental credentials through a staged approach from baseline measurement and the introduction of resource efficiency improvements through to high-end innovation and the adoption of resource efficient business models.

 

We are currently delivering some pioneering projects that will change existing approaches to business and deliver some long-term tangible outputs

 

KFC UK – we are assisting with the procurement of the new waste contract that will allow KFC to appoint a high-performance recycling contract, enabling them to make the move from ‘waste management’ to ‘resource management’.

 

Fresh-Pak – we have devised a resource efficiency strategy for the UK’s largest dedicated manufacturer of fresh sandwich fillings and are now over-seeing the implementation of a series of recommendations that will lead to significant cost-savings in the current waste, water and energy management operations.

 

REBus – we are working with a Scottish-based renewable energy technology developer to offer a lease-hire arrangement for a micro-CHP unit, BlueGEN.

 

WRAP Cymru – we have recently designed a self-diagnostic resource efficiency tool that SMEs can use to identify current operational costs and carbon impacts and thus identify any low or no cost resource efficiency measures.

 

Yorwaste – we are providing strategic business support to assist in the growth and diversification of their current operations.
